How we count

Based on 18,649 of 46,944 wallets listed on the Hyperliquid leaderboard, excluding 4,181 non-trading wallets (3,116 never traded, 1,065 with PnL larger than volume), 346 likely market makers and 701 vaults and 8 protocol addresses.

Active means traded in the last 30 days: any 30-day leaderboard volume, or for tracked wallets a collected fill in that window. 23,061 dormant wallets (neither) are left out here and counted in the all-wallets line and in Detail.

PnL is the leaderboard figure, which is not perp-only: spot gains are included and spot losses are not.

Two layers. Leaderboard figures (PnL, volume, account value) cover all 46,944 listed wallets. Detailed stats (daily and trade win rate, top market, fees) need each wallet’s fills and portfolio history, which costs API budget per wallet, so they are read for 2,306 wallets: the top 300 by perp PnL plus a fixed random sample of 2,000. A random sample describes the whole list without reading every wallet, and any other wallet is read when you open its row.
